Two different launch models
Platforms that use a bonding curve price a new token along a formula: early buyers pay less, and the price rises as more is bought. The token typically moves to a regular trading pool once it reaches a set threshold. A standard liquidity pool works differently: you deposit tokens and SOL yourself, and the ratio between them is the price from the first trade.
CopyFrenzy is the second model. You mint a real SPL token and seed a Raydium pool with your supply and the SOL you choose. The detail is in create a Solana token with Raydium liquidity.
Side by side
| CopyFrenzy | Bonding-curve launchpad | |
|---|---|---|
| How the token trades at launch | A standard Raydium CPMM pool, created at launch | A bonding curve, with the token moving to a regular pool later (see their docs) |
| Starting price | You set it by choosing the SOL you pair with your supply | Set by the platform's curve |
| Who funds the liquidity | You, with SOL that stays in the pool as your LP position | The curve, funded by buyers (see their docs) |
| Your control afterwards | You hold the LP tokens and can withdraw or burn them | Depends on the platform's rules |
| Built-in audience | None. You bring your own | A discovery feed exists on the platform |
Details on the other side are described in general terms because platforms change their rules. Always read their current documentation.
What you get with a standard pool
- Control of the starting price. It follows from the SOL and tokens you deposit.
- Ownership of the liquidity. You receive LP tokens that you can keep, use to withdraw, or burn to lock liquidity.
- Optional trust signals. You can revoke mint, freeze and update authority at launch. See revoke mint authority on Solana.
The honest trade-offs
There is no built-in audience. CopyFrenzy is a launcher, not a discovery feed. If nobody knows your token exists, nobody buys it.
Costs are broken down in the cost guide: a 0.25 SOL platform fee, 0.1 SOL per add-on, network costs, Raydium's pool fee, and your liquidity. And before you launch anywhere, read common Solana token launch mistakes.
Who each option suits
- A standard pool suits you if you want control over price and liquidity, and you are ready to bring your own audience.
- A bonding-curve platform may suit you if you want a lower up-front cost and built-in discovery, and you accept the platform's rules.
